  Battle-Ready Sword Testing - Page (1) - 2 - 3 - 4

Testing of the Major Sword Manufacturers! (check back often as each comparison test is completed).

After much consideration Arms of Valor, Ltd. has decided to do a side-by-side Medieval Battle-ready Sword test of the major sword manufacturers in the medium price range ($150 - $299). We do not know of any other group or company that has done "side-by-side" testing to show the strengths and weaknesses of the Medieval Swords they offer.

Our goal is to provide the information needed for our customers to make an educated decision before purchasing a sword. Though many customers will never actually use their swords in the same manner as our tests are performed; they will know how well the sword will hold up under actual conditions which makes a sword more than just a wall hanger and provides a level of comfort that one does indeed own a true battle ready sword.

The tests will be conducted in the four categories that most sword enthusiasts look for when purchasing a battle ready sword. The first category will be the fit, finish and aesthetic qualities; the second will be a cutting test, the third a flex test to judge the temper of the blade, and the final a blade on blade contact test. The tests will be done scientifically with each sword undergoing the exact same test. In the past companies have been criticized for doing their own testing. We sell all of the brands being tested and hold no biased towards a particular brand. We feel that this lends credibility to our tests and gives the consumer straight facts when making their purchasing decisions. When choosing the swords from each manufacturer we did our best to choose swords that were similar in profile.

The four manufacturers we will be testing include:
Windlass Steelcrafts, Generation 2, and Paul Chen.

Windlass Steelcrafts, Generation 2, and Paul Chen.
From top to bottom - Paul Chen Hand and a Half, Generation 2 Lucerne, Windlass Shrewsbury Sword.
