Tsafa's Sword & Shield Fighting
"The shield is an excellent complement to a sword. It is my opinion that a person with a shield has a much better chance of surviving. One should learn to fight with the shield even if they main interest is Longsword because they will learn what to expect if they fight a shieldman. Unfortunately there are not too many manuals covering sword and shield tactics. I will cover a few basics that SCA fighters use effectively. It is my opinion that if you want to learn to fight in any medieval form, one of you best and cheapest options is to go to a local SCA practice. Here I will attempt to give you a preview of some of the things you will learn."

The Cateran Society
The Cateran Society was founded in 1998, to research the historical use of the Highland weapons such as the basket-hilted broadsword, targe, two-handed sword, dirk and Lochaber axe.
In addition, Society president Christopher Scott Thompson maintains the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy in Portland, ME, where members study the Regimental Highland Broadsword system of the late 18th century, the older Highland Broadsword system of Thomas Page from 1746, and Page’s method of sword and targe combat.

European Fencing (Light Weapons) – sites dedicated to the study of rapier combat both sport and historical

Fencing is the Olympic sport of swordfighting which is directly descended from the duel. Two competitors face off in a "bout", and compete to score points on each other with their weapons. To beat an opponent, a fencer must use bladework, footwork, tactics and strategy. Fencing bouts are characterized by flurries of speed, highly aerobic movement, and lightning-fast blade movements.
